Description
Alligator pepper, also known as Aframomum melegueta, is a popular plant from West Africa. It belongs to the ginger family. It is one of the world’s hottest peppers and is used in many cultures to add flavour to food. It has a very hot, pungent, and spicy taste and is commonly used to flavour meat, fish, vegetables, and soups. Just a small amount is enough as it is very intense. The pods are sourced from Nigeria by local women.
