Description
Botanically known as Panicum miliaceum, millet is called dawa in hausa, achara in igbo and okababa in Yoruba. Millet is a small, round whole grain grown in India, Nigeria, and other Asian and African countries.
In West African countries, including Nigeria and Niger, millets are used in a variety of local dishes and beverages such as Tuwo, Biski (parboiled cereal), Waina (scorched crumpet), Kunu (gruel), Fura (rolled balls) and Tumu (roasted grain-on-the-cob)
